avor the essence of the Arbuckle Mountains at the original ‘Big House’ of the Buckhorn Ranch. Newly furnished 2000 sq. ft. Buckhorn Lodge has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of living, dining, kitchen and utility room space. Rock the hours away watching the hummers on the spacious front porch, or enjoy a game of horseshoes and watch the deer play out back.
Buckhorn Lodge’s private 11-acre lake offers excellent catch-and-release fishing, paddleboats, a pavilion for picnics, and a groomed walking trail. You can ride your horse or bike on miles of ranch trails, hike the mountains while enjoying wildflowers and views of Arbuckle Lake, or just enjoy the tranquility of the 1700-acre ranch. Arbuckle Lake is 10 minutes away, and Chickasaw National Recreation Area with its Travertine Nature Center, Turner Falls, and antique shopping in Davis or Sulphur are about a 20-minute drive.
The Lodge sits on one end of a quiet row of houses, so you aren’t isolated; it just feels like it. Satellite TV, washer/dryer, and a fully stocked kitchen are available, but you don’t have to use them! Excellent barbecue and Mexican food are found in Davis, or a host of restaurants in Ardmore (30 minutes).
Your horse will find safe lodging in the adjacent ranch barn lot, or we have a few well trained trail horses of our own if you would like to schedule a memorable guided Arbuckle riding experience. We strongly recommend shoes for your horses and require a current negative Coggins’ test. We even offer guided hunts for trophy whitetails (Sep – Feb) or feral hogs (year-round).
We welcome you to share and enjoy what we have been blessed with.
